Neighbourhood
Aldershot
A green, low-density neighbourhood on Burlington's western edge, bordered by the Royal Botanical Gardens, Cootes Paradise, and Hamilton Harbour.
Stan's Take
What I tell buyers considering Aldershot.
Aldershot is the kind of neighbourhood that surprises buyers who only know Burlington from its downtown core. It's greener, quieter, and more spacious than most of Burlington — larger lots, more bungalows, a genuine sense of separation from the city without actually being far from anything. The GO station makes it legitimate for Toronto commuters, and the Royal Botanical Gardens on the doorstep is something you don't fully appreciate until you're living next to it. Inventory here is limited and moves when it comes up.
Lifestyle
Quiet, green, and nature-oriented, with larger lots and easy access to both Burlington and Hamilton. Aldershot sits at the western gateway to Burlington, where the city meets the Royal Botanical Gardens and Cootes Paradise marsh — one of the greener, lower-density parts of Burlington with larger lots than you'll typically find closer to the downtown core.

Common questions about Aldershot
Is Aldershot a good area for nature lovers?
One of the best in the corridor. The Royal Botanical Gardens and Cootes Paradise marsh are essentially on the doorstep — trails, water, and green space that most Burlington neighbourhoods don't have.
What is the commute like from Aldershot?
Excellent for Toronto commuters — Aldershot GO is on the Lakeshore West line with direct service into Union Station. By car, Highway 403 and the QEW are both easily accessible.
What types of homes will I find in Aldershot?
Mostly detached homes — a mix of post-war bungalows on generous lots and newer executive two-storey homes. Some townhome development near the GO station. Lot sizes are generally larger than you'll find in central Burlington.
Is Aldershot part of Burlington or Hamilton?
Burlington. Despite being on the western edge of the city bordering Hamilton Harbour, Aldershot is firmly within Burlington's boundaries and benefits from Burlington's schools and services.
How do Aldershot prices compare to the rest of Burlington?
Generally competitive with Burlington's overall average, though larger lots and executive homes push the upper end above $1.5M. The bungalow stock provides entry points below the Burlington average for buyers willing to renovate.
